I titled this message “The cross, it’s personal”. Because it is. It is all about having a personal relationship with Jesus. It’s about the relationship between God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. It’s all about the relationship between us as individuals and Jesus and as one body, the church body, and its relationship with Jesus. It is the gift to the world from Our Father in Heaven.

Jesus died on the cross for you personally. He didn’t die for some religion. He died for each one of us. He was thinking about each one of us; picturing your face as he hung on the cross.

It was your life that passed in front of his eyes, not his.

There is a great Christian band called Adams Road, Matt is one of the band members and he wrote this incredible song before he was saved. His younger brother had given his life to Jesus and challenged him to read the New Testament with an open heart and the Holy Spirit was showing him the truth.

I Would Die For You

Don’t you think that I can see you struggling? (Hebrews. 4:15) Don’t you think that I can feel your pain? I hear your cries every time, in the middle of the night You’re calling out my name

Can’t you feel my arms wrapped around you? Holding you close so you can’t feel the cold I know it’s hard to feel my presence sometimes In this world, but ask yourself

Whose face did you think that I was looking into When I was hanging on the cross? (Isaiah 53:10) Who’s life did you think was passing right before my eyes (Psalm 139:16) As I paid your cost? (1 Pet. 2:24)

And I looked into your eyes and told you of my love For you to live I would die for you

With all the stripes and the beatings (Isaiah 53:5) I never had to question why I just thought of you and my love overflowed And my pain passed on by (Isaiah 53:11)

So come to me with your burdens Lay them right here on my shoulders (Matt 11:28-30) Let me lift you up and carry you away with me Away with me (John 14:2) For you to live I would die for you

The cross was the ultimate sacrifice, once and for all to atone for sin. He took the punishment for every sin you have committed. The ones in your past, the ones in your present, and all the ones you have yet to be guilty of. A perfect lamb was slain so God’s need for justice would be satisfied. Jesus went to the cross so you wouldn’t have to. He completed all the work. All the necessary requirements are fulfilled. Stop trying to earn it or work for it. Just say yes Lord I accept your precious gift.

Luke 15:7 “I say to you that likewise there will be more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine just persons who need no repentance. Luke 15:10 “Likewise, I say to you, there is joy in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner who repents.”

The cross wasn’t a tragedy it was an accomplishment. It was the perfect picture of Love and obedience. It was the perfect gift from your Father.

If you were the only person on earth that needed to be saved, God would have sent His Son just for you. He did send His son just for you.

God didn't do it because you earned, He didn't do it because you deserved it. You didn't earn it, you can't buy or earn it. You don't deserve it. He did it because he loves you so much He had to make a way for you to be pardoned for your crimes against Him. God did all this in spite of us not because of us.

Sin is a crime against God. We reject Him, we call Him names we yell at Him, we do vile evil things right in His face. We mock Him and we tell Him to go away and leave us alone. But He stays right there with His Son waiting patiently for us to take His gift, waiting to forgive us no matter how evil we are or how much we spit in His face.

God would have been justified in sending us to eternal punishment, we committed the crimes, we should be held responsible for those crimes. But God loves us too much to let that happen. John 3:16 “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life”.

This is the full measure of God's love for us on display for the whole world to see. There is no greater love than God's love. If you don't have a personal relationship with the savior Jesus Christ today is the day to fix that. He is waiting for you. He has His hands out with the gift in His nail-scarred hands.

All you have to do is believe in your heart that Jesus is the Son of God who dies on the cross for you and was raised from the dead 3 days later and say this simple but powerful prayer:

LORD, I know you died on the cross for me and God raised you from the dead, I have sinned and broken your laws, please forgive me and come into my life as Lord and I will do whatever you want me to do.

If you prayed that prayer today, then put those words into action and start living to serve Jesus. Please let us know if you said this prayer and let us know how we can help you with your new relationship with the savior. Or if your saved but you need prayer or you need help with your walk we are here for you. Go to our contact us page to see how you can reach us.

God loves you and we love you!
